Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

This was a nice clean property. It seemed like it would be a nice place to live.

The community looked well maintained. The price seemed high.

Decent apartments central in Dallas

Decent apartments for the price in close proximity to the east side of Dallas. Great events and a lot of pools grills. The grills are kept clean so it is a pleasure to cook on at any time.

Stop the unnatural duck feeding

For the record, I love living in the Lakes. Almost everything is great. 2 things need attention. especially the second one.

1. The sound insulation is really really not so good and I believe the structure is too old. I can hear everything about my upstairs neighbor. When he comes home, when he goes to sleep. Whenever he walks, I feel that a giant is stomping around. When I lying on my couch and he starts to walk, I shake with him, not to mention the ceiling. I believe he is not doing this on purpose and he probably just walks normally, because when I – a woman who is 110lbs and walks normally, walks, our floor is shaking as well.
2. Too many people are feeding the ducks. It's supposed to be nice activity but it kind of interfere with the natural process. The number of ducks increases dramatically this year. Don't forget that they don't have any enemies here. What will happen if their number keeps increasing Also, they have become very very fat. In addition, in the past, they would leave during summer time, but they did not this summer, I guess they are well feed in this spot.In addition, they started to chase people because they believed that people will feed them. It's really disturbing. If they are not property kept animals, encouraging feeding would not be a wise chioce, because they are part of the nature.

A very good value property

I really enjoy living in the Lakes. The only two major negatives are the noise and sometimes unprofessional staff. In our apartment, we can hear everything From people having conversations outside, to the person living next to us and even the loud music from the apt across from us. Noise is the most negative. The second, is a couple staff members are a little abrasive and are not always the most solutions orientated and take a defense approach rather then a solution oriented approach.

I love it at the Lakes

I would tell them it's the best place I could have picked for my first apartments to live in. I have no drawbacks in recommending it to anyone I feel at home and I love that it's not in the middle of downtown It is in a convenient location as well

Poor Management

Close to work

The property was very nice and well maintained. The leasing agent gave a great presentation.

Very good, I love it

It is a very good experience.

The on-site agent was very professional and genuine in her approach. I felt welcomed and I felt like she really wanted to assist me in finding a new home. The apartments were nice and had great curb appeal. I really loved the pool and all of the outside amenities, like the walking trail and seeing the ducks in the lake. The model apartment was finished to perfection and really showed the potential of the space and all that you could do with it. I would have leased on the spot.

Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

The property was located in a nice, quiet neighborhood along with a country club and a lake. It was close to a major highway. The amenities were pretty decent. The floor plan was spacious.

I like it right now

I'd say it's a nice place to live, but if they remove the tennis courts and the Country Club the culture that makes this place what it is will be lost. That's when I will begin looking for a new place to live.

Great place to live

It's awesome. I love the community.

Apartment Review from a Current Renter

As part of my daily physical exerice routine I play cricket in the VCC ground along with my other VCC resident friends. But lately VCC is enforcing 15 $ fees every day to utilize the ground and which was not done earlier. Highly dissapointed from VCC management inspite knowing that many of the residents are SMU students. Very rude security officer and treat us like we are criminals playing illegally on the vcc ground.
I do apologize if the courtesy patrol officer acted in a less than professional manner. Please feel free to contact me and provide additional details as I would like to address this concern for you. The Village does offer various amenities for the enjoyment of our residents and their guests. As we consider the use of these facilities a highlight of The Village lifestyle we do have rules, which are set forth in our community policies, that are in place to make sure that these facilities stay a safe and not overcrowded space in which to be active.
