Clean, comfortable, convenient, nice place to live

I love the community of marquis on gaston, my two years of living here have surpassed my original hopes.

I live here because of the proximity to the DART rail. Were it not for that I would seek a place with better amenities (gym, community events).

The community was meticulously clean, up to date, and stylish. It had very nice decor and the grounds were very well kept up. The leasing agent did an incredible job and was extremely detailed in her presentation and demonstration.

It's a wonderful neighborhood to live in, quiet, close to downtown, and right bu a train station and a bus stop

The BIGGEST negative for us living in this apartment is the fact that we are only able to get cable and internet from Time Warner. We don't get the same quality and service for the money with Time Warner as I used to get with Verizon Fios at my previous apartment. It's a HUGE negative for us. Internet speeds are VERY important for our quality of life, and it puts a strain when we can't watch netflix or download a video game because of the slow time warner speeds. It would be nice to have a couple options to choose from rather than being stuck with this provider.

Replace those old faded green "Butt Ugly" signs on the entrance gate. Makes the place look a bit "Ghetto" when everything is looks much more professional.

The parking is not managed very well. There always seems to be non-residents in the garages where they do not belong. Also, none of the dog owners seem to feel the need to keep their dog on a leash or pick up after it.

I love the place but it's too expensive for my other friends who are in graduate school.

I really felt at ease and made to feel that I was the most important person at that time. Amanda was very attentive and genuine and very in tuned with me and what I needed and was looking for. Her overall personality and professional attitude was very welcoming and sincere. She made very efford to make me feel that she really cared about meeting my needs.

I just did not feel welcomed. I felt like I was bothering the staff. Once I started to use my customer service skills she felt really comfortable. I should not have to feel like I am at work when I am willing to spend close to $1000.00 to rent a unit. I put my charm on the agent to make the shop go more easier for her.

This would have gotten a much higher rating if there was consistency. It's in a great location and is close to many ammenities, but the lack of consistant behavior from this location will keep me from renewing my lease.

The only reason that I would not reccomend the complex is that your family size and situation can change unexpectedly due to your own financial hardships or that of a family member. Since I have an additional 7 months on my lease when I truly need 3 bedrooms due to unforeseen changes, I would suggest that my friends and family make sure they go into a complex that will work with them if there is an unexpected change in family size. 7 months is a long time to feel crowded.

I have already recommended two couples, fellow students at DTS, and they have moved in. This is a great place for DTS and baylor people.
