We are happiest with the community aspect. We love our neighbor and it makes it hard to think about moving. However, we do need a bigger apartment.

The leasing professional demonstrated the features and benefits of the community very well. The upkeep of the community and amenities was impressive. The leasing professional was very professional while also being able to relate to my specific needs. The leasing professional was very thorough in painting a picture of the floor plan I would be moving into.

It was everything that I would want. The space was great and the balcony was very spacious as well. Plenty of room for my furniture. All of the amenities were modern and appeared fairly new. Aside from the "renting" aspect, I would have moved in.

Most of my friends are poorer than me. Some of them courted the place but were unintentionally turned away by Amy.

While Ladera Vista is a well-kept community, it is well-removed from the attractions of central and downtown Austin. Moreover, it is no longer convenient for one-car families - Capital Metro eliminated the 392 route from Jollyville earlier this year. Parking is also a challenge - particularly in front of buildings 4 and 5. In light of these facts and in combination with recent high rent increases, I can no longer say that I would recommend the community to my family and friends.

My interaction with office personnel over the last 2 1/2 years has made living at Ladera Vista a nightmare. Maggi was great but she's gone. Amy was the single rudest, coldest person I can recall coming into contact with in a professional setting. I was so pleased that she was gone, but I'm not sure it's gotten better. Right now I feel like they range from rude to apathetic. When I got my lease renewal and considerable increase, I went to the office to talk about it and the phrase "software generated" was used repeatedly in the explanation. There was no human interaction--just a defensive employee telling me I was reduced to a number in a computer program--it was offensive. I can't remember the person's name (it was not Nila--she always seems nice).

Many friends have inquired into leasing here, but the rental rates are a deterrant.

I don't even like to admit that I live here anymore.

Feedback from a current renter

I could not recommend this apartment community to anyone, let alone family and friends.

Overall I have enjoyed living at MLV and have and recently referred to a friend. However, another friend who lives here along with myself did warn our mutual friend about the extremely high rent increase upon renewal. The mutual friend just signed a lease with The McClintock Property.

The rent is the only reason why I might not.

I have recommended it to friends.
