Terrible Office Staff
There has been some maintence to the pools recently so I called to see when the pools would open again, as the weather is perfect for sunbathing. I was told that they were open. Only after getting myself and my children ready for swimming and walking down to the pool did we see that they are not open yet. When I confronted the office staff about the miscommunication the only response I got was "Well, I was off yesterday, so it wasn't me you spoke with."
I know that a "future renter" raved about how friendly the staff were and how accommodating, but sweetheart, you're not in here yet.....just wait.
I can't wait until our lease is up and we can leave this place!!!
So, maybe the problem lies with your ability to manage your staff...

AMAZING office staff!!!!!!!!
I do not YET live at this complex and I will be signing my lease to start on February 1st but I wanted to comment on the wonderful office staff. My husband and I recently came into the apartment to tour their two bedroom models. For the apartments we've seen in the area I think the value vs what you get is so far to par. While we were being shown around I never felt rushed or as if we were taking too much time. Every question I had, down to a possible change to an electric thermostat was approached as "not a problem! we'll see what we can do to make it happen!" I was quite thankful to have such willingness to please.
When we finally decided to lease with this complex, I called and spoke to them over the phone (due to being out of town). I was quite worked up over something another apartment complex did to us and the office staff here pulled together to help us not have the same issues here! They were AMAZING- They never rushed us through and helped us every step of the way. Every single time I call there is a friendly voice on the other line. I know their time is precious and for that we are beyond thankful that the staff today took the time to work with us and help us! I felt as though I was talking with my friends rather than leasing agents. My questions/concerns were answered and the communication was superb!
I look forward to making this complex our new home! I wish more offices were ran this way.

I think the price is a little high for what u get.
The hallways (at least mine anyway) it dirty and not very presentable to others.
Its a noisey living community. .I would not recomend that to someone to come live here...wlls are thin.. pple here are loud and obnoxious. ..Friday nights, I cant sleep- so loud...no one is on duty at night to report it to. (Do t know if u guys have the call in operator like the other propeety owners did..but by the time the courtesy officer got there (he took forever) it was too late.
Thank you for responding to our recent survey. In an attempt to address your concerns, please allow us to offer the following:
We noticed you have lived in your current apartment home since November 08, 2011, which is about fifteen months. You stated the carpet needed to be updated – we are here and at your service to visit with you about the condition of your carpet. On-Site management will be contacting you this week for an inspection of your current flooring to determine what may need to be done. We are a first-class apartment community and believe our residents expect first-class service as well.
Prices for apartment homes at The Marquis at Clear Lake change almost daily. Our pricing is not managed by an individual who may be underpricing or overpricing based on knee-jerk reactionary pricing structuring which many communities and management companies foster even today. This usually results in poor financial management and can ultimately culminate in poor financial performance from which the end result is often seen in deteriorating physical conditions of the community’s buildings and amenities.
Our pricing is monitored daily factoring in many variables offering our current residents and prospective residents prices and terms other communities are unable to offer, such as lease terms from one month to thirteen months with incremental pricing that fits everyone’s needs. We’re typically not the most expensive community nor are we the least expensive.
With regard to the breezeways, please know our staff is power washing them on a rotating schedule.
You mentioned that there are residents and/or guests that present behaviors that have had bearing on your ability to rest or sleep. The Marquis at Clear Lake does have a Webster Police Officer residing on-site and serving as our courtesy officer after hours. If you call our office number, 281-486-7740, follow prompts that will allow you to leave a message for him and he should respond with ten to fifteen minutes. You may also contact the Community Director and report any noise disturbances and the issue can be addressed through the management office.

Apartment staff are HORRIBLE!
I loved the idea of having a gym, the only problem is it went from being a 24 hour facility to only open with the office without any warning.
We did have several maintenance issues. I called the office (which they don't answer the phone, you have to leave a voice mail) and left a message stating the nature of our issue. Weeks went by and I never heard or saw them. It was a fairly easy fix, so my sweet husband just resolved the issue for us.
The staff is rude and condescending. I hated having to go in to the office because I know I will be treated like a 3 year old with less than average intelligence.
I will be very happy when our lease is up and we can move!!
The fitness center is still a 24 hour facility. As it happens, the fob the residents were using may have, at one point, operated the magnetic lock on the side door to the main office/clubhouse/fitness center building where the 24 hour resident access to the fitness center is located and stopped working - or may never have worked. I did exchange a new one that works for the one that did not. As an added measure, I pre-tested the fob and it worked for both the fitness center as well as the access gate as programmed.
While I was not present when my residents were experiencing a customer service issue that, unfortunately, was less than what I would expect from any member of my staff, I did apologize for the behavior and have clarified my position with all staff as to not only my personal expectations of what I understand customer service to be, but to what degree CWS Apartment Homes expects at all levels. I expect to see a marked improvement in this area immediately.
I also researched for a service request for the maintenance issue, which I understood to be primarily a tub that was clogged up and draining very slowly. I am sorry to report that I did not locate such and could only offer to have this repaired immediately, but as stated, the residents had resolved the issue prior to it having first become an issue.
In closing, I wish to offer my sincerest apologies to my residents and hope that, after having met and communicated with me personally, that my desires for my residents and community are greater than sometimes even I may be able to deliver, but will always do my very best to be sure every resident has an opportunity to resolve any issue with me personally if an experience with any staff member has been less than comfortably resolved.

One of your responses indicated a desire to rent or reserve the clubhouse (Grand Room). This had been a topic at the regional level and had gone through much deliberation prior to electing to not to grant private access to the Grand Room due to much emphasis on insurance requirements for property integrity (furnishings, the enormous glass windows, resident safety, security of the facility, requirement for personal liability, etc.) and it has been decided, currently at least, it is in everyone’s interest to keep the main room free of private parties. The Marquis of Clear Lake staff is currently making plans for resident functions over the upcoming months for monthly catered breakfasts and parties to be held at the pools and the Gran Room and/or the game room. Check your e-mail often for upcoming events.
The game room is currently available until 10:30 PM weekdays and to 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday evenings. Due to this room being an amenity open to all residents during office hours and the stated after-hours hours, a private party would disallow other residents and their guests from using the facility.
We understand ownership and management changes can have an impact on residents in that relations developed over time that become familiar and comfortable are severed with little to no notification causing feelings of being immediately disconnected from staff members that have played a very integral part of one’s daily life - if we may, like changing schools mid-semester or moving for employment or family reasons, to mention a few similar situations.
Please know we understand your feelings and we hope that, over time, you find your new staff equally as friendly and very willing to continue to help make your home as comfortable as possible. We believe you will find in our staff members a very caring and, ultimately, an attitude of humility and helpfulness in assisting you with your needs. That having been said, a staff member will be contacting you within 24 hours to discuss your desire to transfer to a larger apartment home.
