Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

The leasing agent came out as very robotic, like she was going through the motions, nothing special nor memorable. The commumity had a great location, but the amenities that it offered could be found in any other neighboring community.

Apartment Review from a Current Renter

Despite the tragedy a few months ago, I feel pretty safe in my community. The apartments are comfortable in space, and has nice features to offer. I like the large bathroom and the open bar space.

the staff is great . but this complex is very insecure i would not recommend it to anyone.

Horrible

I have had nothing but problems since I've moved in. From letting my dog out of his cage while fixing repairs to the rude guest service from the people in the office.

Clean- Great Servide

We moved here in December 2010 and has been here for more than 2 years by now. We are fully satisfied with the location, cleanliness, friendliness of staff and maintenance service. The rent has been increased a little this year but still worth to be here!

Actually not a bad place to live in the UCF area

My previous apartment in the area was a horrible area with horrible staff. I moved here last May (2012) and I've actually been very happy. The people are friendly here, the staff is responsive (great maintenance people!) and they give you privacy (other apartments I've heard horror stories of staff spying on them to find ways to fine them for everything). I will be living in Orlando until December, and I would love to stay until then and renew my lease. I would recommend everyone to live here, it's not the typical "college housing".

2 years and counting

My wife and I have been here for 2 years, and just renewed our lease for a 3rd year. This complex has treated us well. I receive lots of packages from UPS, and the office has always been great about holding them for me. Any time I need something fixed, maintenance takes care of it in no time. All of the neighbors I have met are friendly. We plan on staying here until we both finish at UCF.

Not a good place to stay

The area here is good ill admit, but the Manager Tracy is very rude. These buildings are old, and to prove it all you have to do is drive by. You'll see most of them being worked on because there are so many issues, but apartments always just "temporarily" fix problems. Save yourself the headache, move somewhere else. Oh yeah, there is duck poop all over the place lol

A bit pricey for the space, but a nice home

I love my apartment but partly that's because I put a lot of effort into decorating it (painting, etc.#. By themselves the units are a bit boring #plain rectangles, architecture is not noteworthy but not bad# and a tad small for the price you pay. I have to assume that's because of how close this complex is to UCF.

These buildings are pretty old - built in the 1980's I believe - so you're going to deal with some slightly annoying things like old wiring #if you have too many appliances going in the bathroom you're going to blow a fuse and have to reset it# or the fact that if you have DSL, which I tried - their wiring is old and out of date so you'll have slower internet than what you're paying for.

The flipside about these being older units is that the complex itself is much more spaced out that other complexes in East Orlando and it’s gorgeous because of it. We’ve got great ponds and beautiful trees and actual sidewalks so you feel like you live in a neighborhood and not some cheap, cookie cutter apartment.
The maintenance guys are very nice and always quick to respond to problems and the office folks are lovely and always willing to help in any way they can. They’re currently redoing the “club house” and there’s rumors that they’re expanding the gym and renovating the pool areas, so that should look pretty nice very soon. I’m not a fan of the new “look” that “The Glen” #formerly Heather Glen# is going for – kind of looks like it was imagined by a 12-year-old boy from the 90’s that just watched “Tron” for the first time. But so far it hasn’t affected the units themselves #I hope they don’t paint, I love the yellow of the buildings, it’s so friendly#.
I’ve been at this complex for 2 and ½ years now and I have no plans of leaving any time soon. The pet fee IS fairly steep #and you won’t get that money back, it’s a fee – not a deposit; I paid $400 for each of my dogs# BUT the fee is graduated #smaller dogs or cats cost $250, I believe and then bigger dogs cost the $400#, which helps I guess. The neighbors are generally friendly – I know just about everyone in my building and everyone is very nice and respectful, we don’t have a lot of parties or rowdy students. The complex HAS been raising the rent steadily every year #and last year it was a fairly steep increase# but that’s just the way of renting costs in the area right now so you’re not necessarily going to find a better deal elsewhere in the area.
I can’t vouch for the new management because, well, they’re new – but if they’re true to how The Glen #formerly my beloved Heather Glen) works, it should continue to be a pretty darn good place to live.

This place has horrible management.

When we moved in they told us that they would have everything fixed and services from the last renters that occupied this space. That was August 2012. We still have yet to have repairs in certain spots. When we first moved in, we noticed our storage closet floor caving in, the floorboards are loose in a number of spots in our apartment, and our kitchen floor had tears along the middleof the floor. They said they would fix them within a week of moving in. Turned out we had to pressure them for a month until they finally fixed everything. Lazy management, but the service people who work here deserve the real credit for this place. Management called us repetitively to get papers signed before we moved in, neglecting to tell us our apartment had not received all the necessary repairs.

Moved here in May 2012 from Cleveland, OH. This is a VERY SAFE complex, people are nice, pets are friendly, and apts are CLEAN.

Moved to The Glenn from Cleveland, OH in May 2012. It is reasonably priced, 2 bed-2 bath overlooking pond. People are friendly, helpful and fun. Lots of grass to walk dogs, play ball and for kids to run around. VERY SAFE, CLEAN and maintenance is friendly, responsive and polite. I love it here. I highly recommend this complex to people of all ages....I am 62 and share a building with college kids, three families with young children / babies and college kids. Everyone is respectful and we often "party" together!

The leasing professional was a very capable and sincere professional. Her demonstration of the entire community was wonderful. I would recommend the community to anyone looking for a lot of value for the rent price.

Apartment Review from a Current Renter

confortable

Feedback from a current renter

I have recommended this apartment complex to a lot of my co workers and people I meet that want something fast and comfortable. The location is great and not everything is bad. The apartments are beautiful. The lake is amazing. The convenience is great and the personnel as well.
