Apartment Review from a Current Renter

rent goes nothing new comes in the apartments while you live in them. rules are not the same for each lease holder

The on-site agent presented the community admirably, considering the age of the buildings. His presentation was upbeat and I felt the value met my needs and I would certainly consider renting in this community. In general, the community seems to be a fair value and maintained well. It has good sized apartments, although the lack of washer/dryer inside the apartment was a drawback. The dated kitchens in the non-upgraded apartments would not suit some tastes.

The staff were friendly and eager to assist. Some cosmetic improvements could be undertaken in the community. For example, the railroad ties needed a good paint job.

The office staff is pretty rough to deal with and never seem concerned with issues. The way the water bill is divided seems a bit uneven since my water bill went up significantly since the 7 men moved in to the "corporate" apartment in my building. My water bill was never over $40 and it had gone up to $50 since they moved in. I am pretty concerned that moving forward there will be more of these corporate apartments allowing a ridiculous number of people to live in the building.

DONT MOVE HERE

Way to expensive! They don't tell you when you move here that they shut your heat off most the year. It is freezing at night and they haven't turned the heat on. The garbage removal containers in the way of every apartment door are mandatory expensive and unnecessary. Its not worth paying for a box that some people leave hot stinky garbage in on shared doorsteps in the heat so flies can swarm. They increase rent every year by hundreds of dollars 3%. You have to pay hundreds of dollars every single year for the amenity fee which was also increased. They didn't tell me when I moved here that the renter has to pay for and arrange for the mailbox to be rekeyed by post office. Our laundry room and washers/dryers/storage areas have been unusable for 3 months when were given a one month time estimate for repairs. They still aren't fixed. Repairs from over a year ago when I moved in still have not been addressed. There are trees on the property in the main walkways that seasonally drop berries on the cars ruining the paint, rot on the sidewalk and stick to your feet, track in apartments carpets, and cover the mailbox for our building and flies swarm. When it comes to paying for the water/sewer you don't get your own meter. The whole buildings bill (12 apartments) is divided depending on how many people live in your apt. and the size of your apt. The pool costs money to get pass.

I can't justify recommending a friend or family member to this location based on my experience. Hopefully the property owners want Prospect Point to become a beautiful and warm place to live, but at this moment in time it just isn't worth the money for what you receive in return.

This community was really beautiful and the apartments were very spacious. I enjoyed going to the model apartment to see how I can use the space.

due to the garbage fees and cost of rent, i dont know if i'd refer someone here. they can be cheaper in jackson. i do like the pool but for a guest its 7 bucks so i wont use it that often because who will pay that when they can go to the beach for that amount. i like the landscaping and parking availability. depending on the amount rent goes up next year, will determine whether or not i stay because there are cheaper apt. in jackson or i can rent out a condo at 60 acres and have a backyard

My apartment needs upgrades. I see apartments that have been upgraded with new appliances and cabinets but I am deflected because I have not moved to another apartment. I don't want the additional cost to move but that should not stop my apartment from upgrade.

This apartment community was average. The leasing professional was charming and friendly and gave detailed information of what was provided. The upgraded kitchens were attractive and pleasant, but I found the rooms to be small and having a half bath in the master room to be unattractive.

Its very comfortable here, the neighbors are nice.

for the most part I have experienced a positive experience

Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

The community was in an excellent location, very close to shopping and restaurants. The leasing office was very clean, and the leasing professional's desk was organized. The entrance to the apartment I viewed seemed dark and closed off, even though it was daylight out. I was disappointed in the apartment itself. The kitchen appliances seemed dated, particularly the stove. I could tell that the walls had been painted many times, and it did not appear they had been pained professionally. I was told the carpet would be removed or steam washed, which was something that was definitely needed.

My first impressions beginning with the phone conversation was good. The agent remained professional throughout the visit. She was very informative and friendly. The grounds were clean and well kept. The amenities were nice and convenient. The stairs leading to the apartments were rusty and needed upgrading. The apartment was clean and ready for move-in. It did not have my preference of washer/dryer in unit; however the closet space and dishwasher was sufficient. I would have moved there temporarily if needed.
