Nikki really sold the apartment and community and made me feel like I could just image living there. The apartment I saw was a bit dated, but very spacious and had a homey feel. They seem to do a lot of activities for the residents, and they put out a calendar for each month.

I was unable to view an apartment or the amenities.

I was very impressed by the leasing agent stressing the fact that this was a community where residents got to know each other and had community celebrations.

I enjoyed touring the community with the leasing professional.

STAY AWAY

I’ve been living here for 2 years. My short resume: it’s OVERPRICED and DOESN’T EVEN WORTH TO BE MENTIONED AS AN OPTION FOR RELOCATING. Be aware of the management: as soon you sign the contract, you don’t exist anymore for them. The leasing professional Krystal Rohena is disrespectful and aggressive and doesn’t treat tenants as customers. For her we’re just debtors, who MUST pay every month and don’t have any rights. The property manager Dianna Bernardo does’t pay attention to that and doesn’t even respond to tenant’s complaints. This year the building’s survey link has been sent only for chosen tenants, who didn’t have any issues with the management. I think it says a lot.

So here are some details below.

Pros:
Located in Stamford downtown: walkable to Target, Macy’s, Library and Cinema, 15 minutes walking to the train station.
there are tennis court, gym and a pool (the pool was closed for more that a year, and there are no warranties it’s not going to be closed again for a long time). Now the management is adding an amenity fee for using that.

Cons:
the management is rude and disrespectful, as soon as you signed the lease, they’re not interested in you and your problems. Only our concierge is nice and friendly.
electrical heating is ineffective and extremely expensive.
a dust always stucks in a building’s ventilation, so the fire alarm turns on at least 2 times a month (day or night).
fire station is 1 block away, so be ready to hear the fire truck siren any time night or day.
the Wescott is not a family friendly building. The management considers chalk drawings on the backyard as a property damaging (even if it’s not written in a lease contract), and charges for that.
the management randomly sends notes in order to charge tenants for anything, even without any proof. I and two of my friends got notes that we have to pay for something we haven’t done.
lots of tenants don’t clean after their dogs and the management doesn’t pay attention.

Do yourself a favor, don’t rent here.

The apartment I was shown was very small, with no balcony, so it felt claustrophobic. It was noisy, due to outdoor traffic, and the laminate flooring was poorly done. The carpeted flooring in the two different elevator cabs that I rode in were dirty, and the walls were peeling.

The apartment community is well maintained. The lobby is inviting, and there are comfy chairs along with large flat screen TVs. There is a conference room, fitness room ,and laundry rooms on every floor. There is a java bar, indoor swimming pool, tennis court, and grills in the courtyard. The apartments are fully carpeted and large. They are renovating the clubroom, billiards room, and theater room.

The staff I encountered was warm and friendly. The building was very nice. The entrance lobby was gorgeous. The office was beautifully decorated. The leasing professional that took me on the tour was delightful.

I just loved this community. The leasing agent was outstanding. His pride in this community showed through.

The community is undergoing a remodeling. The tour was noisy. I asked about the hours of construction. If you were at home during the day, it may be annoying.

Overall, I found the community attractive and comfortable. The excellent amenities were a big attraction. The location was a positive element.

The apartment has many attractive features I was looking for. However, I was not convinced this was the right community for me and would continue shopping.

I really did not like that the community was still under construction. The parts that were completed, like the hallways, felt drab. I do not believe the security of an access code is enough in such a large building. I would not feel comfortable knowing that people are coming into the building to go to the doctor's office there. The layout of apartment 507S, however, was fantastic. That really did feel like a much more comfortable layout. You entered and faced the kitchen. To the right was the living room with a nice balcony. To the left was the closet and a half bath, and then the bedroom with a full bath and balcony. It was nice to have the living room not be facing Washington Blvd. That unit had a washer/dryer in it. That unit was certainly priced extremely well. I did not see a Fair Housing sign displayed in the office. I thought the leasing agent was sweet and friendly, but not overly interested in making the deal. She should have offered me the larger apartment. She knew I did not like facing Washington Blvd, and yet here was an apartment that had two sides facing away from that busy road. I was surprised that I had to ask to see a bigger and more expensive apartment.
