Bay Court Review
I have been a resident at Bay Court Apts for 7 and 1/2 years now and it has been OK most of the time. However, over the last year and a half, things have really deteriorated. The parking here has become absolutely atrocious!! It is with a wing and prayer that I can get a parking spot close to my apartment during evening hours . This is because management refuses to enforce policy regarding residents driving and operating more than one vehicle. Some residents own motorcycles in addition to their car and others operate 2 cars or more taking up more spaces than they are allowed to have. This exasperates an already limited parking area within the complex.
Also the office staff has changed drastically over this time. Whereas before the staff were willing to work and help with issues, the current staff doesn't care anymore...if you have a problem with another resident(s) violating policy and you report it nothing happens...the residents keep right on violating policy...nothing ever gets resolved even though the staff say "we'll handle it"...I don't believe them anymore. Also when I put in a maintenance request I usually have to repeat the request several times to get the work done...this never happened before this new staff arrived.
Also I was up for lease renewal recently and the rents have skyrocketed...a whopping 10 percent!!! I went to try to negotiate a more reasonable rate increase and got the cold shoulder. I even tried to get some upgrades to my apartment...another no go. They even had the audacity to charge me for the last day of July (31st) at the new high rate because my old rental lease had mistakenly been marked as July 30th, 2013 as the last day. Every lease I have ever had here has always run to the last day of the month...it is absolutely appalling that they would not even give me that as a concession to rent the last day of the month at the old rate...you can't get much more petty than that!!!!
For folks considering renting here I would apply heavy caution. After the "honeymoon" is over you just become another number in their system. I mean just think if they can treat a quality renter such as myself (I have never missed a payment in 7 and a half years) with this amount of acrimony just think of the kind of care you will receive having much less tenure. God help you if you decide to rent here is all I have to say....good luck!!!!!
