This place is bad and will get worse before long
Bottom line: Move out while you still can. And don't move in until the dust settles.
There's a bunch of flat-out wrong information about the property. I don't know where it comes from.
The Houston Fire Department makes frequent visits to the property to rescue people trapped in the elevators and to shut off the gas.
Some sites say the every apartment has hardwood floors and there is a laundry center on each floor.
I don't have hardwood floors or a balcony. I don't have a laundry center on my floor. I have to take my laundry down to the first floor when the elevators are working.
Also, the sites talk abou the 24 hour maintenance and the heat and A/C which is included with the rent.
The 24 hour maintenance can't be bothered with things like making sure we have hot water, or even turning off the hose when they fill the fountain.
The ownership and management are slow to make repairs. Other maintenance is handled poorly.
I can't wait for the hurricane repairs to be finished (it's 2013), and the carports to be fixed. Did you notice they striped half the parking lot? I guess they had some leftover paint from the 2nd lobby repaint in the last few months. Too bad they forgot to notify the residents that we should move our cars.

They just acquired a $26 million line of credit for repairs and upgrades to the Cabo and River Oaks, including adding penthouses to the unit. We don't have enough parking already. Now we're adding more units. And you can bet that one elevator will be tied up for the construction project.
