Centennial Place Apartments

Our project's site in New Orleans' Lower Garden District has a rich history that includes more than 150 years of commercial activity centered on a bustling, prosperous seaport and adjacent cotton industry. In fact, the name of the Centennial Cotton Press Building harkens back to a time when New Orleans handled nearly one-third of all cotton produced in America and hosted the World's Cotton Centennial Exposition in 1884. In 1947, the Lykes Brother's Steamship Company purchased this coveted city block along the Mississippi River and began redeveloping it to accommodate their growing business. Today the Lykes Steamship Building, the Centennial Cotton Press Building and the adjacent warehouse, where our new development will emerge, retain their original historic charm and integrity, yet reflect the most contemporary and efficient building practices. The beauty, ingenuity and purposeful design of this community, as well as the easy access to major roadways, public transit, medical facilities and grocery stores, ensure that residents, employees and visitors to our new community will reinvigorate and reenergize this areaadding new legacy of prosperity to this historical site.
