I'd tell them it's not a bad place to live, is safe, and the maintenance is fairly quick to respond. The walls are paper thin, and there isn't anything you can do if you have problems with noise, as even if you report it there really isn't anything done. I'd absolutely tell them that the reason I would NOT live here is the lack of people picking up after their dogs. If I step in dog poo one more time, I'm going to get VERY angry. There should be some sort of management of this, although it shouldnt' have to be anyone but the animal owner's responsibility. A nice note on the door of my neighbors would be amazing.

Amazing place! Best bang for your buck too!

I wrote this on Google also, but just in case, I want to make sure as many people as possible can know how great these apartments really are:
My husband and I moved here at the beginning of October in 2013. Today's date (For those who like to know dates) it 2/12/14.
First off, those one star reviews are bogus. COMPLETELY bogus.
The managers here are very nice. They try to help out with whatever complaints you have. People just have to understand that some things are not in their power. These ladies even throw little events for us for every holiday, it's amazing!
I have read that some people complained about the maintenance, which is also wrong. ANY issue my husband and I have had was resolved very quickly with the maintenance guys.
The walls are a bit thin as others were saying, but honestly, isn't that nearly every apartment? You can either rent a downstairs apartment and deal with the noise of people above you (we have a toddler above us who runs around time to time, but it's not bad), or you can have an upstairs where it's much harder to move things into, but you don't have to hear upstairs neighbors.
The lake is beautiful and my husband and I catch big mouth bass in there. There are also Muscovy Ducks here (which I call Turkey Ducks) that are fun to feed and watch swim in the lake. In the warmer months you can also see a ton of turtles in the lake!
Just about every person I have met in this complex is nice. The complex is also located behind a wall of trees so it feels a lot more secluded and cuts out the noise of the traffic on the highway.
I know this is a lot to read, you apartment hunters, but I want you to know that I am loving living here. My husbands orders do not end until November 2015, and we plan staying here the entire time.
(Great military discounts by the way!)
If you decide to move to these apartments or at least check them out before Nov. 2015, let the ladies know that Christa recommended you! :)
Crystal Lakes is well worth staying at!
Just curious what kind of military discounts they have? The only thing we got "quoted" on for a discount was the application fee.

Pretty nice

It is a good neighborhood. Maintenance comes quickly. All necessities. Need a better deal with the healthclub next door, though.

I did not feel the presentation was tailored to my needs. I was also concerned that there was no information on the size of each room and there were no brochures available.

It's ok

I like it but don't like the dog poop, water ballons, and cigarette butts every where. Wish the pool was cleaned on the inside instead of just chemicals, and the outside of the pool was picked up more.

Best Bang for Buck

I couldn't really ask for a better place at an affordable price and expect to get one. The staff are awesome and the location and facilities are well kept. My only two major complaints are occassional noise problems and (mostly residents are to blame) the fact that you can't walk in the grass without stepping in dog poo in some areas. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who picks up after my dog. I don't really see how the staff can fix this as there are already free doggy bags for owners to scoop their poo and discard it in the bins. It's just sheer laziness of fellow residents. All in all it's a great place to live and I recommend it to all incoming fellow military personnel.

not what i thought!

I not sure how i feel about now? i guess at the time looking for something smaller and low rent but didn't take a good look at what i sign a lease to! rents not much cheaper then i lived at nice small house , thought I saved on cable but not really its slow and used old cable boxes old stove and no!!!! cabinet space one high one for can goods , i guess? kind of nerves living without alarm activated. Don't like the fact you don't have a close parking space if you don't come home early enough, don't like the fact i can hear my neighbors every move and voices , but i am here so have to make the best of it !!!!
i do know living in apartments isn't all that bad you don't have to worry about repairs or lawn care and the management Liz very kind and friendly

So far, so good.

As long as you don't mind hearing your neighbors talk, sneeze, snore, go to the bathroom, you will like it here,

Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

I found this property to have great possibilities. I liked the way that it was hidden from view of traffic. The property itself was lovely, but did not look well cared for.

Feedback from an independent evaluator

I got a good idea of what the community had to offer, but not so much the surrounding neighborhood. Other clients not so familiar with the area would want to know about things like nearby schools, grocery stores, entertainment and access to public transportation.

The service and the amenities were very nice. The apartment size and layout were okay, too. The kitchen and bathroom where not updated enough for my taste. It looked like a lot of the apartments looked out to the parking lot. Unless you were worried about your car, I would rather look at a grassy field, a walking path, the lake or the woods.
