Wonderful foundation. *SHOULD* have been the best.
I have been here for around a year and a half. During this time, the staff has been in a constant rotation. Specifically, the community director. First there was Patrick. Very creepy and fake. He did his best but his personality was not fit for such a role. He was "promoted" and left right when the majority of the building became sick of him.
Enter Christina! So nice, cheerful, etc. Then, like clockwork, the power trip set in. I don't think anyone in the building besides Suzan (BOSS- very nice person) realizes who they are renting to and how successful these people are on so many levels. Unfortunately, this lack of basic comprehension is exactly why they have to keep the rotation ongoing. Recently, Christina got "promoted". Wonder why? Same situation as Patrick. She may not have been creepy, but she still had a way of rubbing others the wrong way. Eventually, people began acting as fake to her as she was to the residents due to her lack of respect and business acumen. So, now there is a new girl. Don't know her name, but it sounds too close to Christina for my liking.
The funny thing is that the only GOOD people are let go or leave on their own. The buidling is great but the units are not as nice as they look (fit and finish). There is an overabundance of rules which are all subject to change at a flyer or email's notice. Many actually violate and/or contradict the rental agreement. Read it!
I'll leave you (community director/Zocalo property management) with something to ponder. One your biggest selling points is the community enviornment. Ya know, like how it was when you were a kid and saw the same people in your neighborhood; giving you the chance actually to actually get to know them? That is a community. What goes on at 2020 is anything but. You will only feel the connection of the community when there is some new rule for all residents to complain about amongst one another. This is not a good thing and I do not see this building staying with Zocalao past 2014. Maybe then, things will change. Doubt it....but you can hope!
