Bed Bugs and Bad Management
BED BUGS!
I'm writing this in hopes to save other families the pain of living here, and dealing with the management of these apartments.
My father, who is now 80 years old, has had several strokes but wants to maintain his independence, has been living at Ocean Breeze Senior Village for the past 5 years. After moving into his apartment he started noticing small bugs. It wasn't for quite some time - and too late - that he informed me. Never seeing one before, I researched and I discovered them to be BED BUGS!
Management was informed, and they assured us that they had dealt with this before, it was NOT and isolated incident, and that they would have someone come in and take care of the situation. Having to throw out a brand new mattress and box spring, and purchasing a new set, was a small price to pay to have the problem solved.
Now, a year and a half later, my father discovered that the bed bugs have returned and are worse than ever! They have now spread from his bedroom to his living room furniture, all of which had to be thrown out!
Management was once again told of the problem, and at that time they told me that the people they used last time for exterminating, were not their normal people that they had used in the past, and that they would be going back to their original exterminators. It has been about a month now,
and we are still finding bugs alive.
I asked management to tell others living around him of the situation, and they informed me that they had already done so, and that their apartments were inspected and none were found. Last night I spoke with one of my father's neighbors, and she told me that no one had informed her, and nobody had inspected her apartment.
After 5 years, unable to cope with this, my father is moving out of State to be near other family members and to get as far away from this situation, as possible
