First of all, management and leasing agents are awesome. They are always attentive, helpful, and friendly. they really care about us and our living experience (including our interactions with US Postal lady.) There are a few things I would change. First, we only have a 2 hour window to put out trash, yet they come at 9, 10, or later half of the time. Second, the lighting within the complex could be a little brighter. Third, sometimes maintenance will fix something by way of a shortcut, only to have to do something again later.

It would be nice to have more areas where children are allowed to play in general and with balls, since there are so many children in the community.

The community is very respectful and polite. Many families with children are well supervised, respectful, and considerate to neighbors. The leasing office saff is very friendly, professional, and welcoming. It feels like a true home environment: safe, trusted, and relaxed.

We have been here 2+ years. I find the staff a bit rude and arrogant. Also, I find it challenging to have the mailbox where it is located, at the front gate, while people are trying to park there or drive through the gate. It is also frustrating when I put my trash out before 6 because I am ready for the evening and I get a notice saying it is against regulations. But, I see people dump all sorts of trash by the trash gate. Overall, we live here out of convenience. The staff is okay, and the rules seem to be enforced particularly.

We have renewed our lease 3 or 4 times and every single year, our rent has gone up close to $100 a month. We feel that is ridiculous and that good tenants who pay rent on time and don't cause problems should be able to renew without such a large increase in rent. If we see a similar increase this year, we will not be renewing.

The entire staff at this community is courteous and helpful. My wie and I enjoy McDermott Place very much.

Security gate breaks down often. Front sign by road: brick chipping off, looks bad. Need more attention to details around community. Lots of landscaping issues around communnity, including dead/dying plants, dead tree stumps, dead/dying trees, only front entrance landscaping seems to be taken care of, and lawn mower crews go too fast on mowers. They miss spots or don't cut grass evenly. Pool needs to be cleaned more often. Broken wooden patio beam by hot tub. New roof was nice but left a lot of nails around community. I got 2 flats. See a lot of issues around complex, but management should be looking for these types of these things.

My unhappiness results from things management can't do much about. People parking who aren't supposed to, no parking signs or red curb. Very often and bad. Residents not picking up the dog droppings. Some apartments in this area are charging residens when someone reports them to the office for that. Residents not being respectful of others by being very loud (talking or kids yelling) very late at night (10-12 p.m.) The smell of residents from other countries' cooking is so bad that I've been sick. Like I said, my complaints can't be fixed but are bad enough that I may not renew my lease. Manager has sent out emails to all residents on most of this, she is very understanding.

Overall, apartment complex is good. One improvement could be getting better equipment for kid play area.

Parking is a real issue, there are not enough spaces for residents. Each apartment should be assigned 1 parking spot in lease. Fitness room needs to be updated. Per price point after looking around, kitchen and floor coverings need to be updated.

Our apartment does not have a balcony/patio. It would have been better if there were balconies/patios for all apartments.

Community events, halloween party, etc. are nice. Landscaping and maintenance of common areas are nice. Friendly and helpful office staff. Apartment condition at move in was bad. Carpet was worn out and dirty, changed only upon request. Tile grout was dirty (really dirty,) cleaned myself. Provide a recycling collection bin for community. Recycling trash liners are very expensive and hard to find, hence not used. Community generates a lot of trash, majority can be recycled.

The only issue is additional parking, not enough spaces for visitors. But, we love it here!!!

Love the staff, they were open and friendly from day one. No complaints!
