The community was amazing. The pool area looked great, and even in the snow I could envision warm nights spent there. The apartment itself was very nice with a big living room with wood floors. The parking structure was unique and actually added to the community.

Very Satisfied So Far

I have been living at Riviera West Village now for a little over five months and so far am extremely satisfied with my experience. I will try to update this at the end of my lease term in case anything changes between now and then, but I really only have positive things to say from my experience.

Pros:
Location is almost unbeatable. Very walkable to shops/restaurants/bars/katy trail/everything that uptown has to offer

Modern finishes and nice details inside the unit (gas fireplace, wood floors, crown molding, granite)

Quiet community. It is extremely rare that I ever hear my neighbors (sometimes the slam of their door when they come and go) or other residents, and that is awesome.

The staff are extremely friendly and know me by name. They will help me carry packages out to my car, and when

Maintenance staff is extremely prompt and courteous. I've had 3 or 4 minor maintenance requests and they have all been resolved same day. They have onsite maintenance staff at the property daily, which gives me a lot of peace of mind.

Parking is never an issue. No assigned spots but there are an ample number of spaces, and I can always find a spot RIGHT by the catwalk to my unit.

Cons:

No community hot tub. This might not be important at all to some people but I just like having access to one.

Paying Rent. I don't think it's overpriced compared to market value for the location and upgraded finishes, but it's still hard coughing up so much dough every month for rent, so I thought I would mention it.

I love apt & area but have terrible air conditioning

The location is wonderful and the apartment appearance is great, but we can not keep it cool at all. We've been here 4 years and have been fighting the heat every summer. Supposedly just put in a new AC unit and we have the very same problem. AC man that Riviera sent out 2 yrs ago told us there was no or little insulation in the attic area. No one has fixed it!

lack of responsiveness

I am pleased with the outward appearance of the building and grounds. However, I have encountered experiences recently that suggests that management may not know how to accurately respond to and resolve issues. For the most part, I've had small annoying issues that have been easily resolved by maintenance and office staff. Over the last 6 months, I've had perception changing experiences that have impacted how I view the premises and staff. The experiences include a leak that has not been fixed for 6 months and more recently parking issues with no follow up from management as requested. I believe in giving the opportunity to recovery, and hopefully this can be done through the corporate office. As a new doctoral student, effective, June 3rd, these recent experiences place me in a very unique and potentially stressful situation as I have to now consider options that I was not planning for at this time.

The apartment was delightful and the community was well kept. The leasing agent was nice and seemed ready to help.

The location is great but the management staff is not

I love the central location. I'm in the middle of everything happening in Uptown. The management staff however, is very forgetful. They don't use a lot of common sense when trying to solve issues and billing is a problem. They forget to issue bills then when they do finally give you the bill, the deadline turnaround is super tight. I travel a lot for my job so sometimes they leave me bills and by the time I get back, they are past due.

great location, good floor plans ... lived here 12 yrs.

love the Uptown area, grounds at RWV are terrible, would like to see management walk the property with a critical eye daily. The staff changes on a regular basis.. no connection to residents.

The community had great apartments with many appealing features. They also had a fitness center, gym, business center and fourth floor club room. It seemed like a great place to call home!
