There are lots of things to love about Island Homestead apartments: location, staff, parking, amenities. If you are sensitive to neighbor noise, this is a little noisy as the walls are thin and we often hear people walking up and down the stairs as we sleep and since we have moved in 2 neighbors have moved out and one moved in with another on the way and all the up and down noise, dropping of heavy equipment, reworking the apartments for rental, all have created a hopefully short-term headache for us. However, the staff could not be any nicer, the grounds are beautiful and kept reasonably clean and there is plenty of parking for your friends that drop by. A plus is that I can walk to the ferry and anywhere in the Winslow area and so its very comfortable and convenient. There are no high tech appliances here, for example I don't have an ice maker, but I do have a washer and dryer included, something I did not have in my previous apartment. All in all this is a lovely apartment complex, close to everything with lovely staff who are caring and considerate to your needs.
