Reviews

Been here 6 months, I like it!

I love living here!! A lot of people tend to post these reviews after a bad experience, however I am posting mine due to my positive experience (so far). I have lived with Power Properties (the Verandahs) for around 6 months so far and really enjoy it. The apartment is large for the price (in this area at least) but my favorite feature is the kitchen. I have a stainless steel gas stove and massive counter space. New carpet was put in before I moved in (dark brown) and dark gray accent walls were painted throughout. I can hear my neighbors' TV sometimes but I am used to that, it was a lot worse at my old place. In my bedroom though, with my fans on I can't hear a thing! They gave me blackout curtains too, so I actually have no issues when it comes to sleeping in..  I moved in in the middle of summer so I took advantage of the pools. They can get a little rowdy and loud at times on the weekends, but weekdays and mornings are very peaceful. Now that its cool outside I notice more people hang out at the fireplace in the zen courtyard. It's definitely a social place, so if you are new to the area this would be a great place for you to consider. I have nothing but positive things to say about my leasing experience and dealing with management so far. I haven't needed maintenance for anything yet except a few filter and lightbulb changes, so thats a good thing. Parking is easy (I do pay $30/month to ensure I have a covered spot). I would recommend The Verandahs for any young professional looking to meet friends or simply needing a cool place to call home.

Not upscal more like HUD housing

When first moving here things were well and average compared to other apartments but after 3 months the office personal were rude when calling to put in a maintenance request and if you finally get a request in it takes up to 3 weeks and repeated reminders to have th send maintenance to fix it. Ex: remember the hail damage in the Lakewood area well my roof was turned in for damage and was leaking when it rains and here it is almost 7 months later and it still has not been fixed. You smell your neighbors smoking like their in the room with you, hear full clear conversations, I can even hear my neighbor coughing in the bathroom and it is like there's no insulation at all. Another thing is during the whole year of living here a spray for pest have never been performed and you can see then go across the floor when opening the door to the entryway. Pets no one takes their dog to the area assigned then let them poop in the grass/flowers by the door so you smeall it if you open your balcony door and when walking out the main door. The last thing is parking which is horrible. There is no where to park people parking in spaces marked for no parking. There is not enough parking spaces for residence due to visitors or people parking in the apartments so they want have to pay to park at the club down the street.
