Reviews

Rude, outdated, expensive

After living here for several years, the prices have steadily gone up by $50-100/month per year while the service and quality of apartments and staff have plummeted. The current management and employees are rude and not personable and it can take weeks of constant inquiries to get important maintenance work done. Expect your air filter to never get changed unless you ask about it, HVAC work to be put off until a month past when you needed it, roaches (palmetto bugs) and other insects to the point where you need to buy and spray pesticides yourself, and for the outside areas to fall into disrepair because they aren't maintained or pressure washed often. 5-6 years ago, I was really happy here, but everything has changed for the worse in that time.

I would not recommend living here unless your housing was being temporarily paid by your employer. You can find cheaper and newer apartments for less that have modern appliances and fixtures for less in Mount Pleasant.

NOT what I was expecting

DON’T DO IT! DON’T DO IT! DON’T DO IT! – If you want a gutless property manager, cheap apartment fixtures, but high rent! Then move on in. The word luxury is on the sign out front, but that’s where it ends. There is nothing luxury about Belle Hall apartments. Take heed of other reviewers warnings and don’t make the same mistake I made. This review is based off of facts, and not just my opinion. Yes, I have and am currently going through a very, very, bad experience while living here and it is single handedly due to the property manager. SPIDERS! And centipedes all over the inside of my apartment and I’ve seen 3 roaches since I moved in. Not Palmetto bugs. Straight up roaches. I’m 6 months into a 14 month lease and I’ve had nothing but problems with my apartment. The Maintenance guys have been in my apartment more than I have, and I pay rent here! My first red flag should’ve been when they rented me a dirty unit. Kitchen cabinets and carpeting in the bedrooms still had crayon markings from the previous renters. The floors and windows were covered in paint spatter and drippings. I even asked the property to clean before I moved in and they did nothing. My second red flag should’ve been when I had to actually deal with the property manager (whom we’ll call XXroline). She is a very incompetent and extremely difficult person to deal with. Combative in every sense of the word. I’ve tried talking with the property manager on several occasions and it usually ends with her yelling or breaking down in tears because she can’t handle stressful situations. The most recent dealing with her came when she called me about dogs barking in our building. Turns out, it wasn’t my dogs, but when I tried to point out the true culprit of the barking, she erupted in a screaming tirade yelling that “she’s got better things to do than to deal with dogs barking!” well I’m sorry, but this is your job Xxroline! You get paid by Grayco Inc to handle these types of situations. – The apartment units themselves are very basic and simple with worn out and outdated fixtures. Kitchen and bath counters are painted and the floors are cheap linoleum that looks like hard wood flooring. Everything inside is builder grade which means it’s the cheapest you can buy. The vanity mirrors in the bathrooms have all fogged up and need replacing. Rusted metal shelves in the refrigerators and freezers. When you need something fix, you get a Band-Aid instead of a replacement part. The dishwasher is cheap and old and leaves food and dirty water silt on the tops of your dishes, even with pre-washing. The turn key maintenance is the worst here. You’re guaranteed to have paint splatter all over the floors. Overspray on door knobs and outlet face plates. My dog could paint better than this company; and oh yeah, the community is planted right next to busy 526 so you hear highway traffic non-stop. There is a grounds keeper on sight, but I swear the dog waste cans are constantly full. Here is a laundry list of everything that’s needed fixing within 5 months of living in the apartment. Refrigerator stops working. It took them 3 weeks to get a replacement. The A/C stopped working, TWICE. They didn’t fix it right the first time. Kitchen sink clogged and ran over on to the kitchen floor. Broken window. Roof leaked and caused water stains on the ceiling and walls. Took them 2 months to get around to fixing it. In the meantime the water flooded my spare bedroom and the unit below us. The spare bathroom toilet came loose and rocks when you sit down. The front door jammed and locked me inside on 2 occasions. I whole heartedly cannot recommend this apartment community at all.
