Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

I was pleasantly surprised by the community's basketball court. The staff there was sincerely friendly and professional.

I live in Lees Summit and my house note for a 4 bedroom and 4 bath house is not as expensive as these apartments. I think they are nice and pride shines through but I believe it is way too much for rent with or without a car wash.

The agent was friendly and knowledgeable. The community and apartment were fantastic. The amenities and activities offered within the community were welcoming to residents.

This community is average. However, for the price, I would not waste my time. The leasing agent I dealt with gave the impression that I didn't matter and hurried me through the showing process.

I would gladly recommend this beautiful community. It had every amenity imaginable from indoor basketball to sand volleyball, a pool, business center, conference room, garages, and in-apartment laundry. The grounds were resort-like and the clubhouse was huge, beautifully decorated and welcoming. I would love to call this community home.

The community had the feel of a vacation resort. The leasing staff was great.

All three leasing professionals worked together in trying to assist me and that was very awesome to me.

Summit Ridge had a fabulous staff that made me feel right at home. They were very thorough and professional.

A nice place to live, a bit expensive.

I really like the location of the complex. The staff are friendly and the Community Life couple is great. The amenities are of good standard (pool, gym, and office area). I really like almost everything thing about living here. The downside is the price. For a 2 bedroom apartment it could be about $100 less. The air conditioning units are too small for the size of the apartments. In the summer it can never efficiently cool my apartment and has to run constantly to keep it 10 degrees above what I have it set at. The poor window insulation does not aid to this. Needless to say the electric bill is high in the summer.

Great office staff

I have lived here for almost a year now. The office staff is
awesome to work with. They are very friendly and helpful. Besides the occasional noisy neighbors and unpredictable parking, this is a great place to live. The apartments are beautiful and the grounds are nicely kept. Except for maybe in the stairwells.

Great place

I just love the apartment I just moved into. Got easy going neighbors. There re several things I want to take note...garbage area...anyone can use it because access code doesn't work....noisy upstairs neighbors....well I was told that were exercising...that's hard to believe because it sounded like a party of running around upstairs. It doesn't bother me much, but then when you feel like a party is going on with unkept kids running around...well I really get irritated. Otherwise, the place is quite and relaxing. I just love it when AT&T was able to come and take care of my cable fix, I was jumping for joy.

Summit Ridge one of, if not THE best, in LSMO.

I have lived here for 3+ years, and I'm still as excited as I was when we first moved in! My enthusiasm even led my mom to move into Summit Ridge. Great place to live for older people who don't want the hassle of house upkeep, or younger people transitioning into buying homes. I've even heard about those moving here who are transitioning BETWEEN homes. The only downfall is when it's time to renew your lease, they have continued to raise our rent $20 - $30 each year.

Expensive but has positives...

I have lived at Summit Ridge for nearly 2 years and in that time I have always felt very safe and as if the community were that of a neighboorhood and not of a typical apartment complex where the neighbors don't really know each other. It's a very clean pet friendly complex.

I am disappointed that in that same time frame my rent has increased annually, and my water bill which I have no control over because it's a community water supply has nearly doubled.

The staff are always very friendly and as accomidating as possible. I enjoy the ammenities, pool, gym, etc, as well as the "neighborhood activities" like pizza night, or the pancake Sundays. I just am getting the point where the expense is becoming greater than the benefits and would caution anyone looking to move in to make sure they can truly afford these kinds of increases.

We love living at Summit Ridge!

My husband and I have lived at Summit Ridge for about a year and a half and have been impressed with just about everything here. Our apartment is beautiful, 10ft ceilings, crown moulding, chair rail, big windows, walk in closets, garden tub in the master bath. We have the two bed two bath floor plan which is nice and spacious. We're also continually impressed with the maintenance staff who respond to work orders within a day or two and do anything from routine upkeep to installing curtain rods, pot rack, light fixtures, etc. Our AC went out once this summer in the middle of the night and one of the maintenance crew was at our apartment in five minutes!! I can't say enough good things about them.

The reason I rated SR down a star is because our utilities have been ridiculous and I haven't been able to get SR staff to address this. On a good month we pay $135 for electric and $40 for water. We don't leave lights on, for a while we unplugged our electronics everyday, we don't run our appliances ragged, including our AC and furnace. Last summer, which as we know was miserably hot, our electric bill was over $350 every month and SR was very defensive about investigating this problem. Other residents were not paying even close to that. The problem with our utilities remains unresolved, which is one of the main reasons my husband and I are looking to buy a house before summer rather than next winter! We love our home at SR and are sad to leave because of this issue. Regardless, I still recommend SR because the complex is awesome otherwise and I think the problem might be with our specific unit, not with every apartment.
