Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

This was a nice community with a friendly leasing staff.

Apartment Review from an Independent Evaluator

The location was ideal for anyone that took the transportation that was nearby. It was set back and apart from most of the traffic. The on-site amenities were ideal for the fitness minded. The decor was appealing from the moment you walked through the large glass doors at the entrance, to the modern designs in the lobby and apartment. The square soaking tubs in each apartment were very appealing. The agent was right on when she said the amenities were a perfect fit for anyone working from home.

Beautifully manicured property. Close to everything and far from expensive.

The apartment was a good size and had modern appliances. The neighborhood conveniences, like its proximity to the train station made this a nice place to live. However, the community lacked a swimming pool.

would because of location and amenities; would not because of price

The value was good if you don't mind living in a busy city.

I would recommend and move into this property because of the attitude of the leasing professionals. It was nice to speak with the leasing professional over the phone who provided a great description of the apartments even before my arrival, then to meet with another leasing professional who gave the tour and made it more personable just sealed it. I did not see the corner apartment as offered initially by both leasing professionals, but the model was decorated so nicely and the leasing professional was so friendly that I was satisfied with what I had seen. This is a property I would live in and feel I would be happy with.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We're glad you had a good experience here at West Square and we look forward to working with you in the future!

The sound proofing could be better. Hearing the alarm clock of your next door neighbor isn't a great thing.

location is great but the cost is a lot more than what the units are worth

Garage requests have not been honored and promised 24 hour concierge has never happened.

It's not very quiet. The building is modern, but feels more like a hotel or dorm than a residential space. It's fine for the few months I'm here for work. I do like the building, ammenities and staff, however there's no charm to it.

Here is what I say to friends if asked about it "The unit, the lobby, and the gym are gorgeous but you can't move in here: you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, you have to tiptoe so as not the shake the ceiling down below, the garage parking situation is a mess, the concierge is only part time and isn't allowed top open the door (!), the community is constantly mad at each other and disrespectful to the property, and the rent is higher than you expect. Oh, and like 5 pipes burst on the first floor in year 1! But it is pretty."
"you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, you have to tiptoe so as not the shake the ceiling down below"

Bingo. I'm uncomfortable walking around my apartment with shoes on b/c I can feel the floor shake when walking. I can only imagine what the people living downstairs must hear/feel b/c I complain about my ceiling shaking when the people upstairs are walking around.

" the community is constantly mad at each other and disrespectful to the property"

It's not as communal nor friendly a community as I expected. I feel people tend to keep to themselves and sometimes can't even be bothered to say hello nor hold the door/elevator for their neighbors.

As for disrespectful, see my comment to a previous review regarding a particularly boisterous Saturday night.  Not to mention one Friday night last Fall where some residents had 15-20 people over, playing beer pong in the courtyard.

I live in a unit facing the courtyard and during the warmer months, I feel I can't even open my windows or doors b/c of how much of an echo chamber the courtyard is when people are out there.  I hear everything from the courtyard as well as from apartments across the courtyard if people have their windows/doors open.  Thank goodness for central air!

Great location and amenities. Rental price is a caveat.

I felt very rushed, and I thought the rent is exuberant. There is no pool and not much land.
