Too much construction nearby is lowering the value of the Victor. All the views will be gone.
Too much staff turnover
Rent is becoming less competitive
Good building for pets

Expensive parking

Apartment Review from a Current Renter

Apartments are very nice, except the bathroom sink is useless (too shallow.) Elevators seem to have a lot fo problems. Staff is amazing. Recently, they seem to be overwork. Lack of grocery store is a huge problem. Plumbing seems to be inadequate, can't flush toilet while taking shower. Apartments are on the small side for the price, and parking is too expensive. Online reservations and payments are great, easy to pay rent. We don't like how there is an exclusive club level with roof deck only for rich people, very elitist and classist.

It would be wonderful if ALL residents had access to top floor deck. I have expressed a desire to move into a new unit within the building with a better view and was told that a charge of $1000 would be applied. I'm very disatisfied with this. Main driveway could use pressure washing. Concierge is awesome and helpful. Thank you!

Overall, we're very happy living at The Victor. Ashley, our leasing agent, was horrible to work with. We're relieved that we are done with that process and that everything has been good so far.

The service at The Victor is outstanding. From the concierge to maintenance, the employees are quality people. The availability of parking for residents is horrendous. Two areas in the whole of Boston do not allow for resident parking during the day: the West End and the Financial District. Since no one lives in the Financial District, this does not present a hardship. Here, the resident parking on street is minimal. This is a huge problem for me and the other residents in the West End.

I understand it is a fairly new building, but the elevators seem to be broken every other day. Furthermore, there is a lack of convenient luggage carts available for the amount of people here. I often feel I am more of a guest in the building than a tenant. I was told at 10 p.m. on New Years Eve to keep it down enough though there had been no complaints and that the only noise heard was my 6 guests and me having fun through the door. I am surprised to also have to supply our own water filters for fridges, this was not been the case when I lived elsewhere.

The fact that at least 1 of the 3 elevators seems to always be broken at any given time is unacceptable. Once they break, it's at least 2-5 days before they're fixed, and in the meantime, it takes 10 minutes to get from lobby to apartment. Same can be said about front door entrance in the underpass, it's been broken and out of use 1/2 of the year I've lived here. You'd think that by now you guys would have figured that the door doesn't work and neither does ordering new parts everytime it breaks. Just make a new door!

Great management. Physical location is so loud and nois (construction, major traffic intersections. Garden/after hours crowd is a major drawback. I moved here for proximity to work, not after work life, and I tend to appreciate much quieter living spaces.

Carol at the front desk is a gem!

Better recycling program please.

The gym could use better machines or bar-loaded weights. The towels could be kept fresh.

Overall, this is a great place to live! I think all residents should have access to the rooftop. I do not think that there should be a fee to use amenities for how much residents pay for rent. The elevators and front door are always broken. The gym never has towels. Front desk service is great, great location, and great maintenance services.

We really enjoy living here, and the management and concierge are all very nice and helpful. Our only problem with the property is parking. Before we moved here, we looked at at least 10 other properties in and around Downtown Boston, many with the same style building. This place, by far, was the most expensive in how much you charge for a parking spot. With that being said, the parking garage is constantly filled with parked cars, making it sometimes very difficult to pull into the garage. There was one time when my husband parking briefly there so I could run in real quick to get our mail, and we were immediately reprimanded, yet other people are allowed to park there for long periods of time.
