Looks can be Deceiving
On the outside this little spot doesnt look like much, but then again, neither does a diamond before polishing. After finishing school, I wanted to remain in the area for to keep in the loop of things both academically and socially, and continue working at my job. Wanted to live near/at the center of everything as i did as student. Found this place through craigslist and thought, sigh, give it a try. Super uber glad I did because it was more than I could have asked for.
But as with anything there are Pros and Cons
Lets start with the
Cons: If you do not like to see people outside their apartments, this is not the place for you. The people here live very much like a community. And the community is well marinated as much of the tenats have lived there before the Avesta bought out this, like many others in the area, complex. The adult folks play games, neighbors chat with each other, kids of all ages are seen doing what you rarely see nowadays- hang out and play outside.
II.) The occasional loud stereo from young people.
III.) Qauters may be too close if two non-family or great friends would like to move into a 2x1. I lived in a 2x1 alone, used this as my "relax/extra/external use" room but would definitely see problems had I had a roommate due to the non-split layout.
Pros:
Cheap rent with renovated interiors, tile floors, and *new appliances (*my apartment had old dishwasher but new everything else).
Maintanance- SPEEDY, never had an issue that didnt get resolved in a timely manner.
Staff- Excellent and very professional, they were always willing and did their best to be able to help.
Really enjoyed the fact that they were well organized, involved in the community with tactfulness, and inquired of the tenants for areas where they can improve.
Between these two groups of people, In my opinon, I was always looked out for and was known by a few on first name basis.
Parking- Always available.
Overall, if you're a mesh well with people kind of person, this place is great and ideal- a little rough around the edges it may appear on the outside but beautiful on the inside. Enjoyed my time there and would definitely refer to a friend or student needing cheap living and a place to call home/sanctuary.
