Current Renter
When first looking to rent here, I was unaware of all of the charges they send your way after signing. There's a heavy trash fee every month, along with water charges that don't seem reasonable. There's no way one person uses that much water a month. Also, the rent is really high - especially since my unit hasn't been remodeled yet. It's pet friendly - and I had issues with barking dogs around my unit all hours of the day. Took a couple months before office actually threatened eviction to the owners. The gym equipment is always broken. Gate is always broken. It's so-so, and now so very expensive since they are renovating all the vacant units.Â

Good: The complex is in a relatively good neighborhood and is generally quiet and well maintained.
Bad: I prefer to live in an apartment that is quiet- no noisy neighbors etc. This has generally not been a problem, but I am concerned about the number of college students who live in the complex. I am a working professional and prefer peace and quiet when I am at home- no loud parties, loud music etc. that seems to be more of a problem with college students. It would be a shame to drive out long term residents by giving preference to short-term leases to college students. It seems there is more than enough college housing in the area. I would like to see Grandeville keep it's image of "upscale" apartments and not cater to students.

I used to recommend this place, but not with rates getting so high. The layouts are good, the community feels relatively safe, even though I think there should be a night guard on duty. The gym is tiny (and smells) and the equipment so-so. For the money, a person could probably do better.

Rate too high because apartment interiors too outdated. If apartments were remodeled and upgraded I would "definitely" recommend.

I am a single woman and I feel safe here. I am also pleased regarding the improvements to the pool, the pressure washing of the breezeways and shared areas, addressing the parking issues and the general direction management seems to be taking Grandeville.

I have heard from previous tenants that when you leave you are hit with repainting and carpet cleaning fees and often security deposit is not returned even for normal wear and tear. Unsure if this is true but if so is worrisome as I expect landlord to paint and clean carpet for next tenant at their expense, not mine.

The switch between Equity and Greystar has not been 100% positive. We never received a copy of our lease, and the new gate cards are quite inconvenient. These are things that make me think twice about recommending this community to my friends.

management and staff weren't very responsive when it was run by equity and nothing seems to have changed in that regards since greystar took over. The residents section of the website was a lot more informative and helpful under Equity. the new website gives me no information on the status of my service requests, etc

The apartments are big, the community is clean, and it's a great location!

It's loud. If you're a working professional it's not the place to be if you want to get a good night of sleep before going to work in the morning. Keep your gym membership because the equipment is not working more than it's working.
