At first we loved living at Links! The grounds are well kept and gorgeous. The staff is friendly. The maintenance/repair crew is timely. The interior of the apartments are smartly updated, BUT their floors are super thin! Links knew we were a young family and placed us in a second floor unit. Soon our lower neighbors informed us they could hear us walking around quite a bit, so my husband, older child, and I started obsessing over stepping silently throughout our unit. Unfortunately our toddler does not comprehend the idea of tip toeing all day, so the complaints continued despite us explaining to our neighbors that we can't do much about our toddler walking around in the apartment we always pay rent on time for. They began to bang on their ceiling, ding dong ditch, and filed a noise complaint with the apartment. (Not with the local authorities, because noise necessary to living in no way violates Westminster's noise ordinances mind you) The apartment acknowledged their floors are not as sound proof as they could be, but have officially warned us that if our toddler continues to toddle back and forth in our unit it will be considered violating the portion of the lease that states, "Residents shall refrain from rowdy, unruly, or disturbing behavior. Loud talking. Unnecessary noise (including loud vehicle music), boisterous conduct, singing, playing of musical instruments or loud television, stereo, or radio that disturbs others is not allowed at any time. Noise should not carry beyond your own apartment." They are spinning those words to include natural, not-to-be-helped toddler movement. DO NOT RENT AT LINKS IF LITTLE ONES ARE IN ANYWAY A PART OF YOUR LIFE! They are threatening eviction if our toddler continues to walk around the apartment on her own two feet. She is only awake between hours of 8am and 7pm and three of those hours she is napping. SO DISAPPOINTED that we are being harassed.
